From learn + ‑naut, a suffix used for travelers and explorers.
Learnonauts are learners on a journey of curiosity, discovery, and growth.

Learning doesn't happen in school alone.
A learner's growth is shaped first, and most deeply, by the people closest to them. Learning is life‑wide. School is an important part of the journey, but it is not the whole journey.
Around every learner is a circle of support. Each circle matters, but the closest circles often shape the learner first, longest, and most personally.

At the center is the learner.
In the most influential model of human development, people grow within connected environments, beginning with the relationships closest to them. Family is the first and most constant environment, before any school, program, or platform.1

Most learning tools are built for the institution, on the assumption that learning happens in school. A child's progress gets split across portals, logs, programs, and apps that each hold a fragment.
When a program ends or a family moves, the record is often left behind.7

Learning is personal, and it belongs to the learner.
Learnonauts starts with the learner, not the institution. Around each learner, in order of closeness, are parents, then the wider family, then teachers, then the school. Most tools are built in the opposite order, beginning with the institution and rarely reaching home.
A learner's journey should belong to them, supported first by the people nearest to them and shared outward into school and programs when it helps.
